The Santa Cruz Organic® brand's roots stretch back to the early 1970's, when founder, John Battendieri, began revitalizing abandoned orchards in the Santa Cruz mountains, an area known for its high-quality, flavorful fruit. Battendieri pressed his first batch of "Mr. Natural" apple juice in 1972, making it one of the first packaged organic products.

In recognition of our efforts to reduce packaging, increase recycling rates and save energy, the Santa Cruz Organic® brand has received the WRAP Award (Waste Reduction Awards Program) for the past eight years. This award, from the California Integrated Waste Management Board, shows our ongoing dedication to sustainability.
Most recently, we have made the transition to use 100% renewable energy to run the production process for our processing and bottling facilities.
